Comments on: Is Atheist Display "Tolerant"? https://www.thepaytons.org/essays/considerettes/?p=2590 Conservative commentary served up in bite-sized bits Sun, 14 Dec 2008 00:32:04 +0000 hourly 1 By: Doug Payton https://www.thepaytons.org/essays/considerettes/?p=2590&cpage=1#comment-10424 Sun, 14 Dec 2008 00:32:04 +0000 http://www.thepaytons.org/essays/considerettes/?p=2590#comment-10424 I will say that I am one of those religious folks who believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven (basically, because He said He was). However, most, if not all, religious holiday displays do not make that claim overtly, nor denigrate those who hold contrary beliefs. They simply “state” what they believe; Jesus was born in a manger, in the case of a nativity scene.

You do have it right regarding the elevation of Atheism to religious status. Thanks for your thoughts.

They’re not actually very good atheists or atheists at all, since they’ve only slipped in their substitute religion.
Though I might add that bombastic claims to sole revealed truth could also be considered as scorn and ridicule towards other religions. But I suppose that only makes my previous point more apt, they have found their religion and called it Atheism or in the view of another aetheist…nonsense.
