How Cold Is It?
It’s so cold, The Salvation Army, for the first time ever, cancelled bell ringing at their red kettles in Minnesota and North Dakota.
Sunday’s high in the metro [Minneapolis – St. Paul] area was forecast around 5 above zero, with windchill values between 21 below and 31 below. A north-northwest wind will blow, with gusts as high as 28 miles per hour.
Sunday night’s low will be around 15 below, with windchill values between 23 below and 33 below.
We had some flurries in the metro Atlanta area yesterday afternoon and evening. Nothing stuck to the ground around here, but I still had some accumulation on my deck and some left on my car this morning, where the temps won’t get above freezing today. In the north Georgia mountains they had enough ice to close schools.
